Who should attend?
This is a beginners course for Docman training for Practice Managers who need to have an overview but is not necessarily going to use Docman themselves.
Delegates do not need any previous training or experience on Docman.

- Have an understanding of the scanning and filing process
- Have an overview of your Clinicians procedures
- Have an overview of your Admin Staff processes
- Deal with your own tasks

- Report on your Docman data
- Have an overview of Intellisense filing, read coding and maintenance
Course Details
This full-day seminar course runs from 10:00 until 16:00. The course will be performed seminar style.

Course Content
Docman Overview
A brief overview of the purpose and functionality of Docman and the various ways it can be used within your environment.
Scanning / Filing
This session will allow you to have an overview of the scanning and filing process. Protocols and Procedures will be discussed and explored.
Workflow / Viewing (Clinical Staff)
This session will focus on the training of Clinical staff, on the viewing of scanned documents and also the workflow process which will replace your current process of reviewing the daily post (in paper form) and actioning any required items.
Workflow / Viewing (Admin)
This session will focus on the training of Admin staff, on the viewing of scanned documents and also the workflow process which will replace your current process of receiving the paper documents back from clinicians and actioning any required items.
Non-Patient Filing
This session will cover the area of Docman that can be used for filing and viewing non patient documents. This may include documentation from PCTs, clinical providers, internal guidelines and protocols.
Document Maintenance
This session will cover the maintenance of documents filed using Docman. This will include topics such as editing document descriptions, deleting documents, moving documents between patients.
Docman / System Maintenance
This session will cover the administration and maintenance of Docman. This will include topics such as adding new users or changing users access rights, building lists ofhospitals/departments, checking the daily backup and installing software updates.
Reporting
This session will cover the reporting functionality within Docman. This can be used to create custom reports. Examples of this include reports of how many documents you receive from a certain hospital/provider, or how many documents arrive from a certain department by various hospitals. Reports can also be created by filtering patient information such as sex and age ranges.
Intellisense Filing
This session will cover the scanning and filing of your daily post.
Intellisense Maintenance
This session will cover the maintenance of the Intellisense software. This includes ‘teaching’ the software to recognise new hospitals and other keywords.
Intellisense Summarising
This session will cover the read coding functionality within Docman when using Intellisense. This session covers staff that carry out the read coding for your incoming post.
