PCTI celebrates its 5,000th customer in Shropshire. Church Stretton Medical Practice is part of the Shropshire County PCT and Telford and Wrekin PCT project to provide all GP practices in the area with PCTI’s Docman, Intellisense and EDT.

This Surgery joins over 5,000 practices using the solution to process 1.5 million documents every week for over 20 million patients.

Julia Thompson, Practice Manager for Church Stretton Medical Practice in Shropshire said, “Whilst we have only had Docman for a couple of months, we have already noticed efficiencies within the practice. Scanning time has been massively reduced and letters are now sent electronically to the Doctors quickly, in an easy to use workflow. The Doctors really like the system, particularly being able to instantly access patient’s letters electronically, rather than searching for the physical paper documents. Docman works seamlessly with EMIS LV, it feels like the same system. We are looking forward to receiving many of our hospital letters electronically into Docman when the Electronic Document Transfer module is rolled-out.”

Ric Thompson, Managing Director for PCTI said “The number of practices using Docman has grown significantly over the past couple of years. More and more GP’s understand the benefits of a complete Document Management solution, which is much better than basic scanning modules. We are looking forward to launching new software in the near future, which will improve the face of Document Management within GP practices even further.”

Barry Patsalides, Shropshire & Telford Primary Care Trust said “The Docman project has been a real success and remains well on plan. The main drivers behind this project were to enable practices to receive documents electronically from Hospitals, improve patient safety and to provide industry-strength document management systems, designed specifically for GP’s.”

The Docman software works side by side with leading clinical systems, providing a comprehensive Document Management system for both the clinical and non-clinical documents within a practice. This was recently supported by Docman’s accreditation from EMIS for their new EMIS Web product.
