PCTI has made a new senior appointment to its UK Board. Ian Moody becomes Director of Product Strategy and a key interface to the NHS, existing PCTI customers and partners.

This appointment is part of PCTI’s strategy to further strengthen its position as a leading provider of electronic document management and electronic document transfer systems in the UK healthcare sector.

Ric Thompson, Managing Director for PCTI, “Ian joining the Company will help PCTI to deliver the NHS vision of a joined up NHS. As a product strategist, Ian brings 20 years successful healthcare IT product experience, ensuring our solutions are developed and deployed from a customer perspective.  Ian’s previous achievements in delivering benefits to patients and the NHS through innovative solutions will enable him to play a central role in strengthening our business both within Primary Care and the NHS generally.”

“Ian’s responsibilities will include leading Product Strategy and Product Management. He will therefore play a major role in ensuring we understand the needs of customers and how we pragmatically help them deliver results quickly and cost effectively.”

Ian comments, “Having been involved from the early stages of key programmes like GP Links, the Electronic Prescription Service and the Pandemic Flu service, my goal is to avoid the pitfalls of centrally procured solutions which can distort original design goals and benefits in the procurement process. The aim is to help the NHS quickly realise the idea of ‘no decision about me without me’ through collaboration solutions and the timely delivery of information between primary care and service providers.”

Ian joined PCTI from Clinical Solutions the decision support specialist where he worked on multi-channel assessment and advice solutions for clinicians and patients. Altogether Ian has over 20 years healthcare IT experience having worked for a leading GP System supplier for 10 years and has been involved in some leading interoperability projects like GP links and the Electronic Prescription Service.
