Warning: Suspicious Telephone Calls

Docman have been alerted by a number of sources advising of suspicious activity during telephone calls to GP practices.  A malicious entity claiming to be a Docman representative has been making requests for users to access third-party websites to download miscellaneous files to gain unauthorised access.

During genuine activity with the Docman Service Desk, we would like to re-assure our customers that Docman would not direct a user to a third-party website to download content.  The exception to this would be remote access from “LogMeInRescue” which is a GPSoC accredited process.

To use this remote service, a support technician would direct a user to either; or which involves authenticating access with a six-digit pin generated at the practice.  This involves a validation process for the customer to provide access and then places the end user in control to grant remote access by either allowing or denying the connection.

If you have any concerns or feel you have received a suspicious telephone call, please follow standard procedure;

  • Do not share any detail or information
  • Do not click on any suspicious links or websites
  • Challenge suspicious telephone calls
